Seattle Thunderbird Hockey
For the last several years, Val and I have hosted (billeted) players for the Seattle Thunderbirds major junior hockey team of the Western Hockey League. These kids can join the team as early as 15 years old. They graduate as 19 year olds; however the team can keep 3 overages (20 year olds) each season. Many of these players go on to play pro hockey in the ECHL (East Coast Hockey League), AHL (American Hockey League) and the NHL (National Hockey League). Players we have hosted are; Nick Pannoni (goalie), Igor Agorunov (forward), Darren McLachan (forward), Shane Endicott (forward) and Kyle Fecho (defense). These boys become part of our family and we keep in touch with the after they move on. We've enjoyed our association with the Thunderbirds. Top left: Darren McLachlan played with the 2002 T Birds that won the Western Conference Championship. He currently plays with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL.
Top Right: Shane Endicott played with the 2000 T Birds. He currently plays with the Wiles-Barre Penguins of the AHL.
